PACKAGING DESIGN

DESIGN BRIEF : All in one dining pack for bachelors, consisting of a set number of cutlery and crockery

COLLEGE PROJECT : Packaging Design

DURATION : 3 Weeks

OBJECTIVE : Learning product packaging

Initial Phase

CAN PACKAGING SERVE A HIGHER PURPOSE ?

As I explored more about packaging, I wondered if packaging can be used further and not thrown away after a product is opened. Can packaging be turned into another product complementing the original product it encased ?

As a bachelor myself, I realized the clutter of utensils me and my friends used to have in the kitchen. When we purchased a set of crockery, we threw away the packaging and later on while shifting to another town, we had to search for alternate method to store the crockery.

DESIGN BRIEF

Turning the packaging into an essential accessory for kitchen to dry the washed vessels and keep them organised. It saves time and money for bachelors to purchase a separate accessory for kitchen.

I Interviewed many bachelors in Pune and understood their lifestyle and needs. The general kitchen area problems that I found were that kitchen was unorganized, chaotic and messy. Furthermore , there was frequent shifting involved between apartments.
